Have pelvic floor exercises really made a difference for you?

I'm on week 3 of the nhs Squeezy app and I think it's starting to help, or it may be all in my head!
I had 2 big babies, many years ago, both assisted deliveries with big episiotomies. I have never fully recovered

30 years later and the menopause has made things even worse.

Any positive stories please to keep me going?

Yup but see a physio to make sure you're actually doing them right.

Verbena87 · 23/06/2022 23:08

Yep, me. Fellow massive-baby-forceps-episiotomy mum here. I still have a prolapse but it’s mostly asymptomatic these days and when I’m not resting because of ivf nonsense, I’m back to running and lifting.

it took bloody ages though. Keep going!

Yes, I had a small cystocele after my second baby and was getting lots of pain and urinary symptoms. About 9 months after I saw the physio I’m doing much better now. 😊

Makes a huge difference to me. I need to keep doing them so if I lapse I notice the difference and have to start again for a few weeks to condition the muscles again.

Yes. If I don’t keep them up I will start to leak.
