Hi, i didn't know what topic to put this as, but anyways hoping someone will have advice or could maybe help with my situation... i have recurrent UTIs and recently also recurrent yeast infections , i see my doctor about the utis but not the yi (yet) i’m not 100% sure if it's a yeast infection, i don't display much thrush (very little) my main symptom would be extreme burning during and after sex & being unable to pee. i've took creams/antibiotics for the issue before but it would always come back. i was told that maybe i passed it to my partner and we're playing pass the parcel. he then started showing symptoms after a few months of me having the problem (smelling discharge under the foreskin and redness) so then that's when i got an antibiotic for both of us to take and it cleared up for us both. A month later he has discharge + redness again, im showing no symptoms.... but i know if we have sex i’ll have severe burning. very frustrating. This happens every month for a few days where we can't have sex. it used to be only me showing symptoms now now he is.

we do not have STDS. Ive been tested twice, once being very recently, i had to rule this out due to my chronic UTIS. he's also been tested.

any couple on here ever had this problem?

any advice or help etc would be very appreciated thanks xxxx

You are more than likely to be passing it back and forward if it's thrush.
Get the tablet and cream combo and both treat for thrush and see if things improve.
I am plagued by thrush, always have been and often me and my DH have to both be treated. I'm normally a pessary, he gets the cream.

@shouldisay how to you manage your thrush, I seem to get it every month the week before my period.

I had the same problem. You could try cutting out sugar, switching to reusable sanpro, using more lube (not ky jelly but a more natural one like yes). All those things helped for me but I also discovered that I am allergic to latex so condoms were a bad idea all those years. Obviously if that’s the case for you then switch to a different contraceptive unless you’re happy to get pregnant.

@TheProvincialLady How long did you cut out sugar for?

TheProvincialLady · 15/11/2022 13:19

A few months I’m afraid!

kittykat818 · 15/11/2022 13:21

@TheProvincialLady I've done three/four months recently and just began introducing foods and thrush returned - very annoying!

Very annoying. Why is it that the inevitable solution is always the least fun!
