Odd bleeding (gross and tmi)

This might be an odd one, recently I've noticed my underwear is getting stained quickly.

When I wash the underwear it seems like dried old blood on it. This happened before my last period ( started 2 weeks ago) and has happened daily for about 6 weeks before and since.

I've used those daily towel things and they have caught blood. Today I decided to use a menstrual cup to see if it is blood from there or not and about an hour ago I removed it and used a urinalysis test strip on the CM inside the cup.

pH level is normal but it showed traces of blood. I've never bled between periods before, not even slightly and tbh I'm quite concerned.

Obviously I have booked a smear asap (I'm about 18 months late on getting it - I fell ill when it was last booked and kept forgetting to rebook it). So my smear is on Monday afternoon.

Has anyone had similar to this and had a good outcome? I have severe anxiety and am now worried sick thinking the worst.

Yes I know I should have booked my smear as soon as it was due, but I didn't and here we are :(

Hi, yes had that. Severe health anxiety too, turned out it was an erosion on cervix, and had another case where it was a benign polyp in uterus.

Thanks, I hope that I'll get some answers tomorrow.

The combined pill caused this for me

Any unexplained bleeding should be mentioned to your GP. How old are you OP? Have you started or changed any hormone medication recently? I get some dark spotting - mine is due to a small but annoying fibroid.

I'm not on any form of contraception and 100% not pregnant.

Hi, I'm 31 years old. I'm not on any hormone medication but I am on other medication for health issues. Not on any form of contraception. And as said above, 100% not pregnant.

Just been to the toilet and on wiping I saw a fair amount of bloody discharge. Which has not happened before. I'm now really anxious.

Spoken to 2 close female (sister and bio cousin) family members and both of them have had abnormal smears and had to go in for treatment.

I've just checked my Flo app and I'm on CD16.

I know this post is kind of everywhere but I'm really anxious now.

Call your GP in the morning, likely you'll need to be referred for a vaginal ultrasound to figure out what's causing the bleeding between periods. Not all are worst case scenarios. The smear just tests for the presence of HPV which won't identify if you've got thickened womb lining or fibroids or polyps. I'm 2 weeks after referral for an ultrasound so hoping the appointment is in the next couple of weeks.

I know it's easy to panic and think the worst (I did). But try not to. You can't change this or control it today. You can take control tomorrow. Deep breaths. Step away from Google. You got this.
