Tips for staying slim past 40

So I've just had my milestone birthday. I'm still breastfeeding my youngest and am the slimmest I've been since a teenager right now. As well as general health, I also had gestational diabetes twice so it's good for me to stay trim as I get older. And - I'm going to say it - I feel SO comfortable in my own skin right now. I'm very short so any weight gain shows on my figure immediately.
But older friends have already explained how hard they've found it to stay slim over 40 and on perimenopause.
So, do you have any tips for staying on top of things? Obviously it's so much easier to maintain a weight than to lose, so I'd like to do what I can.

For me cutting out processed food changed everything. I always thought it was calories in calories out and that fat was bad. If I wanted to lose a few pounds I would struggle to do it and have to go hungry. Now I eat more fat, slightly fewer carbs and keep processed food to a minimum. After making this change I got to my target weight without hunger and have remained there since ( I'm mid 40s).

^ That. (within reason, please don't go anorexic) Only eat enough to stave off hunger not to satisfy your taste bud cravings.

Thanks - I'm already on quite a high fat, high protein, low carb diet after getting into new habits when i had the GD so probably will carry on with that.

Protein is your best friend! I add a scoop of protein powder to my breakfast, eat lean meet and snack on grenade bars.

Keeps me super slim

Yes the low cab, higher protein works for me too.

Also, cutting alcohol
