Cerelle Mini Pill

I've recently started taking Cerelle (2 days ago) and I'm confused. My GP said when she prescribed it that if I started it on days 1-5 of my cycle I would be protected right away, any other day and it would be two days before I was protected. However the instructions that came with the pill only say instant protection if you start on day 1 of your cycle, otherwise it's a week before you are protected! I started it on day 5 but I'm wondering how cautious I need to be for the next week!

It depends on the length of your cycle as if you have a shorter cycle starting it on day 5 might not cover you. It's 2 days of pill taking to be covered if you start after day 5.

It's 7 days for the combined pill and 2 days for the mini pill

Thank you, the fact the leaflet that came with the pill stated 7 days had me completely thrown!

Sorry to jump on but I have recently started taking this also and I am on day 5 of taking it im due my period next week but for the past 2 days iv had mild period type cramps in the lower of my belly and this is very unusual for me as most of the time I wouldn't even know my period is due as I don't get symptoms
Is this normal
