Another mirena question

I know it’s not uncommon to bleed for up to 6 months after mirena insertion but how bad is the bleeding? I’m getting mirena to deal with heavy periods where I spend a couple of days each month hardly able to get out of bed accompanied by headaches, cramping, massive bloating etc. I’m assuming post mirena bleeding won’t be that bad. Please reassure me that I won’t be having a 6 month period.

First marina coil I had no bleeding at all until it got close to the date it needed changing then I had a small amount of bleeding. On 2nd now and I have periods that are a lot less heavy and last only 4 days.

I got the marina coil for the same reason as you and it was the best thing I ever did. I now only get mild stomach cramps and can get on with my life while on my period.

I've just had my 6th one inserted around 3 weeks ago. I usually find that the bleeding lessens immediately, and has completely gone by around 4 to 5 months. As my last one had run out, I was bleeding heavily every 2 weeks for about 6/7 days and that's already changed. To have gone 3 weeks with no bleeding has been bliss.

My bleeding lasted 3 months without a break and was fairly heavy i then had a huge hemorrhage when they did a scan it was no longer there.

I’ve had mirena for 7 years. Used to have very heavy periods. Now I have tiny little/non existent period since gettint mirena fitted. Best thing I did! 10/10 no problems what so ever!!

I had my first mirena fitted about 7 weeks ago. Had no bleeding for the first 3 weeks then got my "period" and have been bleeding for nearly 4 weeks now. Hope it stops soon

l am on my third mirena, never had any bleeding at all.

I'm on my second Mirena. The less said about the insertion the better.... I've had it for six months.

I bled lightly for a few days, then the first few periods were much longer than usual, all arrived early and were still heavy, but they've reduced now and I'm down to a couple of days with one heavy day and maybe 3 light and 2 spotting.

I used to have one heavy day then nothing at all with my last Mirena, so I'm hoping to go back to that!
