Breast pain - breastfeeding

DD2 is 4 weeks old and today I've had a very tender area on the underside of one breast. It is very painful to touch, but there is no lump, redness, engorgement or fever and the area feels nice and soft, like the rest of the breast. The pain is constant, not really worse during a feed but does hurt a bit more with let down. It's feels like kind of a bad bruised type of pain that feels quite deep in the breast. Feeding also doesn't relieve the pain at all.
I had mastitis a couple of times with DD1 and I don't think this is that, but I'm not sure what it is. The absence of any lump or hardness makes me think it's not a blocked duct.
DD and I are currently being treated for thrush (nystatin for her, cream for me), could that cause this pain? I have typical thrush nipple pain when feeding, and DD has a white tongue that is easing a bit with the nystatin.
Does anyone know what this might be, and what might help ease it?

Hello! Conscious this is a very old post but I could have written this! Exactly same situation I am in. Wondered if it cleared after your thrush treatment? X

Hey! Did you ever find out what this was? Currently in the exact same situation. Deep breast pain just in one boob and thrush nipples on both!

Hello! Mine went away when I finished my thrush treatment. Now I have a similar breast pain in both boobs only when too full if he has gone longer without a feed. My thrush treatment was 10 days flucanzole (400mg then 200mg for 9 days), daktarin cream and nystatin drops for baby. Just for full info on what I did to get rid of the thrush in case it helps, I changed breast pads every 3 hours and washed everything at 60 degrees. I wore a new bra every day too. I also swabbed my nipples with diluted grapefruit seed extract after every feed, then used a hair dryer to dry them and also drank it diluted in water every day. I also pumped for lots of feeds to give my nipples a break. Hope yours clears soon. Hopefully it won't return as I am prone to it, as I don't think I would continue bfeeding if it did!!
