Prolapse surgery

Prolapse I have a grade 2/3 prolapse, advised by a Urogynaecologist that the best treatment would be a colpocleisis ( obliteration of the vagina) and a Posterior colporrhaphy - he felt pessaries would be of little help. I feel this is a very invasive solution and feel I need to get a second opinion, would like to hear others thoughts on this.

This seems a bit extreme!
Can I ask your age and what type of prolapse you have that closure of the vagina is being recommended?
I have grade 1 Cystocele and grade 2 rectocele and I am being advised pelvic floor therapy for treatment of symptoms.
I believe there are other surgical options available before deciding to close up shop all together... unless that's what you want

There's another prolapse thread at the moment

I had hysteropexy. I don't think it's offered everywhere but might be worth looking into.
