Bits of copper IUD falling out!

Christ I'm having an absolute nightmare. I've had loads of pain, suspected it's my ovaries. Had coil in for over 5 years. Now is it normal for bits to fall off? 😂

I posted a few weeks back with sticky horrible discharge and black bits in it.

This appeared today. Is this normal?!

I think I would try to get an appointment asap.

Is it nearly at the end of its lifespan anyway?

It could cause an infection and I doubt it’s effective if boys have fallen out.

Yeah it's near the end of its lifespan! Surely that can't be good having bits of copper knocking around my womb. I've never once read of bits of it falling out.

If anyone else has experienced this I'd love to hear!

I had my bloods done on Monday as I've been having so many problems! Wonder if this is the cause.

Yeah its a foriegn body and needs removing.

It's out! Lots of antibiotics. It was all rotted and had hardly any copper bits left on it. Yuck

Jaysus! What brand of coil was it? I insert them at times and have never heard of bits falling off them😱

Thank you! I've no idea! My mum has suggested finding out the brand. They didn't seem like mega concerned that the copper had either; fallen off or disintegrated.

Been treated for PID, but they have sent swabs away to find out what the infection is.

On metronidazole and doxycycline for 2 weeks. They probably think I've got an STI or something! Which I don't. If I do MrMark is in bother.

My coil looked like this with significantly less metal than what's on this. Like almost bare except the 2 arms
