How soon can endometriosis reoccur?

After years of bleeding and pain I finally had endometriosis surgery in July last year. My left ovary has adhered to my pelvic wall causing excruciating pain.

I suffered with bleeding after the surgery until I switched to a new pill in January. Fabulous. No pain. No bleeding.

Until three weeks ago...

It started as light bleeding. This has gradually got worse. But the pain is back and with a vengeance. It is more left sided as previously.

Is it even possible for endometriosis to reoccur so soon?

I have been referred to gynaecology but I'm absolutely beside myself.

For anyone who has seen my recent post I have associated restless leg symptoms and I'm going up the wall!

I didn’t even know you could get rid of it!!!! Not something that has been offered to me - which country are you in?

@AgnesNaismith I'm in the UK and I had the op on the NHS.

I was listed for an exploratory laparoscopy +/- treatment which includes the removal of the endometrial tissue. I also have to have my left ovary freed from my pelvic wall due to adhesion (I forget the medical word for this).

Bumping this for you. I'm not a medic but a fellow sufferer. Sadly, I think it doesn't ever leave you, and therefore the symptoms can return any time. The adhesions awful and hard for anyone else to understand, although it is different for everyone.

@FindMeInTheSunshine thank you! The pain is excruciating and I've managed to get an appointment for some pain relief to prescribed yesterday. I'm worried as the pain is once again left sided which it was last year just before my surgery.

Did you have a meeting with the surgeon say a week or so post op to discuss what was found?.

My guess is the surgeon did not manage to remove all of the endo present and yes it can certainly recur. How was the endometriosis removed; was it done by laser or was it excised?.

Adhesions are like sticky strands that tether organs together and these can also cause pain.

@AttilaTheMeerkat I did however the conversation was that it was likely to recur but no time scale really given. I'm a bit surprised it's been less than 12 months.
