Untreatable yeast infection?

My DD has seen three different doctors at our family practice and they've each given her a different treatment for her yeast infection. Nothing works. She's in tears because she's afraid it's incurable. I made yet another appointment for her but meanwhile, I'm trying to reassure and comfort her. Can anyone help, please?

Has she been checked to see if it's lichens sclerosis? I had this for years, thought it was thrush, itching, burning sore vulva, which spread to the back.
I was diagnosed with LS finally after begging my go to refer me to gynae. Sad thing is I have probably had it from childhood as I can't remember a time when I didn't feel itchy or sore down there
Tell her to check for any whitening of the vulva or anus, any shiny patches or skin thickening. Tell her to ask her Dr to check for Lichens sclerosis, she might need a specialist appointment with a dermatologist or a gynaecologist to diagnose, some people need biopsies to diagnose.
It's an auto immune disease, treatable but not cureable unfortunately, but with a system of using a steroid creams and cutting out any shower gels, it's possible to manage symptoms.
Good luck!

This is all very helpful! Thanks. I've never heard of a sexual health clinic here, probably because I get my Pap smears done by my GP.

Is it true that there are lethal cases of thrush or whatever fungal infection she might have?Shock

BTW, I have looked up sexual health clinics and yes, they do exist here. Oops. Anyway, good to know.

Does she have a copper coil? I suffered terribly with thrush when I had one in, despite 6 months of fluconazole. Disappeared once I took it out.
