Breast Pain is Awful

I first got breast pain 6 or 7 years ago and saw a breast surgeon who found nothing. Same again last year. The pain is ridiculous - it’s bad enough to wake me up in the night most nights and some days it’s constant all day. I’m taking evening primrose oil with no effect. I know breast pain is a thing but can’t shake the feeling that they’ve missed something even though I’ve had 2 mammograms. Anyone else?

I take a good quality EPO and it makes a difference for me. I ran out recently and they hurt.
How old are you ?

Im aorry youre going through this. How old are you? I have breast pain, mostly on my right breast and recdntly kts almost like a tingling sensation T the top of my breast leading onto chest. I have just bought more supportive bras because I am very big busted. I have googled and it is rare that pain is cancer, but I still cant stop worrying!!

I’m 46. Pain is in lower left quarter of left breast. It’s in a very specific area. I’m sure I’d worry less if it was more of a general all over pain.

So it could be hormonal due to peri menopause.
Does your bra fit well ? Do you wear wired bras ?
Which EPO are you taking ?

I started getting breast pain and went for a mammogram but it turned out it was part of my ms. The consultant said breast pain is not a symptom of cancer, but they have To deal with the referrals when They get them

I’m taking 1000mg per day, just Sainsburys own brand. Have had a hysterectomy so hard to know about peri menopause but pain for a long time so seems unrelated? Yes I wear underwired as always feel my boobs look a better shape with wire. I wear a night bra too.

I stopped wearing underwires as I was getting pain in the bottom of my right boob, and it worked. I now also wear a light sports bra for bed.
And it was Tesco’s own brand EPO that did nothing for me, try Efamol from Boots. They make the difference for me, I ran out recently and had pain and it was waking me up at night, but it’s stopped since I’ve gone back in them.

I would get checked again, its probably nothing but in my case it was breast cancer, lobular and some breast cancer does cause pain. If there is no lump after 6 or 7 years of pain I would be optimistic its not cancer. I had pain for about a year before a lump appeared. Also had some skin changes on breast.

This is type I have and pain is listed as a symptom. Quite a few women with breast cancer do have pain.

lobularbreastcancer.org.uk/signs-and-symptoms/

It forms a lump at the end. The best way of detecting it is a breast MRI.

My pain was in lower part of breast, sometimes appeared to be from rib below and sometimes felt like going into chest. The other thing I had was lift breast up breast looks distorted but that was later on and skin changes, lift breast up and dimple appears, slight orange peel look on skin. Also left and right breast looked a bit different. Its all quite subtle before lump appears. Mammos miss about 50% of this type so do ultrasounds though pick up most other breast cancers.

Thank you. I am mid chemo atm but had surgery first x 2 which got rid of the visible cancer.

I cannot completely remember tbh. I think pain was there most of the time but not 100%. The pain in breast went when cancer was removed. Before it appeared to start in breast or rib and I was so confused as to what it was. I thought gallstones, kidney issues, covid vaccine, never expected breast cancer. Its normally not.

It was not tingly, it was more like stabby pain, it kept me awake some nights. I am smaller breasted, not sure if makes a difference. Though any pain that persists would get checked out.

I think it was inbetween stabby and a sore rib below breast with cancer, sometimes pain seemed to go to centre or bottom half of breast or from centre of breast into chesr.
