Funny smell when I wake up 😷

Ok so this is not really a nice question but I don’t know what’s going on! When I wake up I can smell that my body (maybe neck and chest region) smells odd, like it didn’t used to smell. It’s almost a bit cheesy 😷
what is this?! I never used to get this. I’m 46 and it’s been happening aboyt 6 months now. I’m not going through menopause yet or peri even. I have put on a lot of weight through lockdown and am quite overweight now so I’m thinking it is maybe fatter bits making the smell. I know this is gross- sorry! Buy has anyone else had this and got rid of it?

Peri can last for 10 years before the menopause..are you hot at night?

A cheesy smell usually indicates a fungal skin infection. Have you got any soreness or a rash anywhere? Under breasts for example?

Try using liquid talc from Asda in the creases, after a bath. Or just talc, for that matter.

@Beamur yes I often get hot at night esp since spring.
@endofthelinefinally no- no rash under breasts but I have got large boobs so the smelliness is partly from the under boob area.

@picklemewalnuts good idea! Thanks

I also started taking Sertraline just before lockdown. I’ve read this can change body odour.

You could well be edging into peri. All kinds of weird there!
The odour could be your skin, a mild skin infection/yeast change due to sweat/hormones perhaps?
I'd change pillow cases etc and maybe try adding a bit of tea tree oil to washing water (clothes and skin) and see if that helps?

@Beamur thanks! Will do all of that right away! It’s horrible!!

Sounds like a fungal infection, my doctor prescribed Nizoral shampoo to shower with and I use generic Clotrimazol cream also which I get from Ebay
