Acne down there

BlueBellsArePretty · 18/05/2022 21:24

Since giving birth last year I have suffered constantly from acne type spots in my pubic area and vulva. It's not itchy but develops like spots used to get as a teenager. They get very swollen and filled with pus before bursting and eventually healing up. Sorry for the tmi. I keep the area clean and wear cotton pants Have five at the moment. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like genital herpes or…something else, there is another one but can’t remember what it is.

Doctors appointment either way though, don’t leave it!

Hidradenitis Suppurativa?

FairyCakeSprinkles · 18/05/2022 21:38

Sounds like a staph infection to me. Soap alone won't kill the staph bacteria. Have you tried hibiscrub? You can buy it from Amazon.

Herpes. Why have you not seen your GP?

Basilbrushgotfat · 18/05/2022 21:47

Well I'm not sure what it is but you definitely need to see a doctor. See if you have a local gum clinic if you don't want to see your gp.

Thank you for your responses. Don't think it's herpes as I do get cold sores on my lip and this feels nothing like that. Not tingly or itchy. I will make an appointment, have put it off as my doctor is doing telephone triage appointments and don't want to be talking about this if phoned at work.

Do they do email consults op? Might be easier to email them and then they can arrange for you to be seen, saves phone calls
