Hi there so I went for an ultrasound today as I've been have some gynaecological problems for the last year or so, she began doing the scan and about a minute in she said what was the date of your last period I had told her I was on the depo she continued but had a really puzzling look on her face she then said I'm gonna have to do a internal if that's okay so she did and the assistant next to me asked if I was sexually active, she then did the internal and said I would here results from my doctors within ten days, do you think they suspected pregnancy as I'm absolutely freaking out as obviously I have been on the depo injection for the last year so I thought that would be impossible.

I presume they were looking at how thick your womb lining was, which varies in your cycle, so that question is routine. As generally is doing a pelvic scan and a transvaginal scan for gynae issues as they get a clearer picture internally - sometimes your ovaries are not visible from outside. The sexually active question I would imagine is routine too, I've been asked that before in various appointments so difficult to tell what it might be. Good luck though!

They don't/ won't do internal scans on women who are virgins, I know that. Could that have been why they asked? And also to judge any discomfort it may have caused you.
