my acne is caused by my mental cycle. It gets worse a week to my period starting. My face is covered in spots like a teenager and I am in my late 30’s so it's no longer funny at all and I am fed up. I have tried and used everything but nothing works

I want to stop my period and I wondering if it's a good idea to discuss with my GP.

Can't use use birth control pill because in hypertensive.

I have had every sort of acne there is (teenage acne, pregnancy acne, adult acne 😭).

The first thing that has ever really worked is a mix of tretinoin, azelaic acid and niacinamide. This seems to be the standard thing prescribed by online dermatologist companies like skin & me and Dermatica.

I've been using skin and me for a little while and am really impressed so far with the effect on my acne and I've had no side effects.

I've just signed up to try out dermatica (I like that it is a tad cheaper and I can't resist a good new starter referral discount 😂). They've prescribed the same mix of ingredients as my skin and me treatment but a slightly higher percentage of tretinoin. Going to try it out when my current skin & me tube runs out to see how it compares.

If anyone is considering either I have referral codes for both I'm happy to share 😊.

Skin & Me 2 months free (ex prescription fee of £3.50)

Dermatica (seems to be £2.90 then 25% off the next month using referral code)

Sorry I can't help with the period thing -- but maybe the topical treatments could help with the skin issues 😊
