Spotting before period

I am 47, possibly perimenopausal but have usually regular periods. For the past couple of months I have had strange light pink/brown spotting a few days before my period, then stops, the restarts as period. Two days ago this happened again. Day 24 spotting, day 25 nothing. Now waiting for my period to property start. Has anyone experienced this kind of start stop spotting before a period?

I'm not perimenopausal but recently started experiencing this. Two days of dark brown spotting before actual period. Sometimes like you say can stop/start before actual period. Very frustrating! My only advice is pantyliners and a good stain remover...

Worth getting checked out, could indicate something like thickening of your uterus, might be nothing just hormonal, speak to your GP.
