High CA125

Has anyone got experience of this and it turned out to be something benign? I have had some noticeable bloat for 9 weeks now, following an upset tummy which never really recovered.

i went to the GP 2 weeks ago who sent me for blood tests. They revealed low iron, high platelets and a CA125 of 420.

I have little in the way of other symptoms, no gas with the bloating (feels more like liquid, pushing under my ribs which is another source of worry from google) and the odd stabbing pain. Normal, regular periods. I am so so worried.

@Kirstyyypops what did your CA125 come back as? As some posters above stated there are lots of reasons for mildly elevated CA125! I think my initial level of 420 is less common for benign reasons but certainly not unheard of.

Looking back I had lost my appetite gradually for at least 9 months or so and just not noticed. Post surgery I remember thinking wow this is what hungry feels like!

It's natural to be scared, it's a frightening thing and Google does not help, but remember you are still more likely to NOT have cancer. There is a lovely cancer support thread in General Health if you wanted to join, we are for those waiting for possible diagnosis as well as those diagnosed.
