Crippling pain in hands and arms with swelling in mornings

Weird development for me recently-I've been waking each morning with eye watering pain in both hands which are very swollen (rings that normally are very loose fitting have become tight overnight). The swelling seems to subside within an hour or so of waking and pain less severe but frequent throughout the day but perfectly manageable.

Never had anything like this before/ I've been feeling utterly wiped out lately but can account for this, been unable to get a GP appointment, so wondered anybody got any ideas?

I'm mid 40's with under active thyroid but deal with that via medication. Reasonably well I guess otherwise!

It sounds like possibly rheumatoid arthritis especially with the fatigue or maybe psoriatic arthritis which you can get even if you don't have psoriasis. But could be osteo. You need a full blood tests for rheumatoid factor, ana, crp, esr etc. Often with one autoimmune ie your thyroid there's another joining the party!

Thanks- I think osteo is perhaps a real possibility- I've had epic sciatica type of problems since giving birth. Never really managed to fix it...
Arthritis fills me with dread 😬
Yes probably overdue bloods too- just been impossible getting through to a GP- I must persist I guess!
