Cervical ectropion

I have a cervical ectropion. Although only diagnosed about 6 months ago I suspect I've had it for a very very long time. Mostly because of a variety of symptoms including spotting while pregnant and them telling me I had a 'sensitive cervix'

As long as I can remember I've spotted before my period. When I've not been trying to get pregnant I've liked it as it gave me an early warning about my period coming.

Recently I had a uterine ablation to deal with very heavy periods. Im on my second post surgery period and they are DRAMATICALLY lighter and more manageable (though slightly disappointed it didn't stop them)

What hasn't stopped at all is my pre menstrual spotting and it's still the same 5 days it's been for years. Im wondering now if this is actually my ectropion and whether it's worth exploring having it treated. No treatment was done when diagnosed because I thought it was symptomless. I don't spot after sex or at any other time in my cycle and hadn't connected the two.

Does anyone know if the premenstrual spotting is the ectropion? TMI but the blood is always brown old blood.

Hello,

I also have a cervical ectropion and have done for years and years. I think it first started when I took the contraceptive pill but have been off the pill for 2 years now and have religious spotting for 7 days before my period every single month. I have have it treated in my early 20s with silver nitrate but it always came back. I’m so wondering if there is anything else that can be done to stop this and why don’t it happen always around day 23/24 of my cycle? Is it due to hormone imbalance?
