Unexplained weight gain

Long story short, I gained 7 kg in the past 3 months although I eat the same and exercise the same (5 times a week, hiking and cycling). I’m not taking pills or any medication that might cause weight gain. I eat very healthy, small meals, don’t drink alcohol at all (I don’t like it). The weight started to go up in December and the worst has been in the past month. None of my clothes fit. I’ve had the same weight since I was 17 (until December) and I am 42 years old now. Blood tests are OK, not menopause yet. Not pregnant either. I feel hopeless and depressed, and I am very worried because if it goes on like this I will end up with serious overweight. Has any of you experienced something like this?

I put on three stone in two years without changing diet or exercise levels. Went up from a 12 to a 16/18. Turned out it was my thyroid packing up and going underactive. Once I got that sorted, the weight all came off again.

It could be perimenopause causing it. I am 43 and have noticed a steady weight gain in the past couple of years, was always slim until I hit my 40s. It's so depressing. Hope you get sorted.

Ouch, perimenopause, looked up the symptoms and they match☹️
