I really need some help. In January I had very err vigorous sex that wasn’t completely enjoyable.. I ended up with sore of sores and it really hurt. Went to GP, she said it was literally just like a friction burn and it would heal. Also had STI check at same time and all fine…

So it did heal but since then I keep getting what I guess is thrush but I’m not sure? Inside the labia it gets a bit red and sore and itchy and a bit of discharge like thrush. When I first got those symptoms (a few weeks later) I took canesten and it all cleared up. This reoccurred a few more weeks later so I took more canesten and it cleared up. Now I get some days it’s fine other days, like yesterday it has come back AGAIN. Do you get sore, slightly red inside the labia with thrush?? I don’t know what I can do to stop it? I haven’t had sex since that happened in January so it isn’t that. Can anyone help??

Really I'm just bumping for you because I don't know. Did you do the cream and the pessary together?

My recent bout of thrush started itchy then became sore, labia was slightly swollen (don't know if red, didn't look) and I got a little pink discharge.

Is it worth popping to a sexual health clinic? Or maybe one of those canestan self tests for thrush?

The only other thing it could possibly be if sore and itchy is maybe herpes. It would be diagnosed if you had an active infection at the time you were examined by a gynae doctor. But most likely thrush if irs going with treatment.

id go either back to your doctor or to the clinic where you got tested and ask if they swabbed for tricomoniasis , it presents like thrush , can make you red and sore down there and it will respond and clear up with canestan , but the canesten does not cure the infection , so then it will come back again , back in the late ninetines when i had it , the doctor at the royal free told me that the reason the std checks id had which were all negative were because most std clinics and docs dont test for trich . maybe its moved on since then though , its worth enquiring if you were tested for it and if not ask to be

Thanks for replying everyone. I’m going to try to get an app but I know I will have a few weeks wait. I did use pessary and cream at the same time and cleared up and then I have had to take the tablet last month and again cleared up. Last few days it is back again. It isn’t internal it is inside the labia so in the folds? It’s a bit red and sore, obv have to be careful when I wipe after a wee! I have vagusil medicated cream at home which I have used this morning and it has helped a bit. I just want to go back to normal! When I was at doctors they said they were adamant the sores were def not herpes and it looked nothing like pics on Google plus it was only in 2 places it hurt.
