Positive HPV

Hi, just got a letter today to say I am HPV positive. I had my last smear 3 years ago and I ‘think’ that was HPV negative but also not 100% sure they tested that as I know it’s all changed recently. No abnormal cells found and re-test in 1 year.
I’m just a bit worried as to how all of a sudden I am HPV positive - same partner for well over 10 years !!

From what I've read, sometimes the cells can be there already and then become active, doesn't always mean it's anything to do with partners. X

Can happen 10 or 20 or even 30 years after the initial infection
I'm also positive after about 13 years of being ok
Think pregnancy caused my flare up

Also I asked a pharmacist as Dr's shut what can cause it to flare up .
Turns out stress ,low immune system ,pregnancy and menopause .

That’s all interesting thank you - we are under a huge amount of stress at the moment with family things so wonder if that’s what caused that! I’m run down and terrible diet at the moment. Need to start looking after myself!!
