3 Smears hpv positive

Has anyone else had this? Been referred for colposcopy now and feeling quite worried

It'll be fine
I've had 2 and expecting my 3rd to be the same
But over 10 years ago I had the lletz procedure but of course they didn't test for it then
I'm pissed off that I'm here again as I thought that was the end of it after being ok for so long but I'm not really worried

Just got my result today - HPV positive but with no detection of abnormal cells so re-call for 12 months. It’s confused me a bit to be honest, I can’t remember if they tested for HPV last time (I Know it’s changed recently). I also had lletz about 14 years ago, no further issues since then and all smears been negative. I’m just confused as to how it’s positive, could I always have had HPV but just never known as not previously been tested?!

@mummy2boys53 if you've had treatment in the past then yes you will have had hpv at the time

Had treatment years ago and thought it was over with but have had 2 positive smears and fully expect the 3rd one to be the same and have to have another lletz

Ah ok that makes sense - guess last time which I’m thinking they did test it, it could have just been dormant?!
