Bleeding in between periods with the coil

anybody experienced this and does it eventually go away? I had the copper coil fitted around 4 months ago and bleed after sex and in between periods?

I had the hormonal coil but I had to have it taken out after 8 months because it just would not settle. I was having inbetween bleeding, bleeding after sex, almost constant spotting and the threads would often hang quite low prodding me inside. My nurse said that coils don't suit everyone and it's not necessary to persevere for months and months if you're not happy.

Having said that, once it was out, my irregular bleeding stopped instantly and my periods are now the most normal they've ever been! So in a weird way, the coil was a godsend!!
