Perimenopause at 41?

My mum says she was about 45 when her symptoms started.
I've had skin itching and periodic acne for a while, palpitations, nausea and vomiting before my period is due and now I'm finding brain fog is interfering at work. My moods are up and down. I teach and finding planning hard, even though I have been teaching 17 years.
If I see the GP are they likely to prescribe HRT? I've been trying to read up.

I was Peri at around 42. I wish I’d gone to the Drs earlier. If I hadn’t been on the waiting list for a hysterectomy at 44, so due to get HRT anyway, I would definitely have gone and asked.
It does depend on your GP though tbh, some of them aren’t very up on it. Many don’t spend an awful lot of time learning about menopause!

I might need to ring the GP then. I just got food out of the freezer thinking I had no lunch for work and it took me 20 minutes to remember I'd already sorted lunch last night. The memory stuff really unsettles me.

I think I've had symptoms from a similar age. I had really heavy bleeding from around the age of 40 which got diagnosed as being due to fibroids but I think there's probably an underlying theme of peri-menopause in there too. I'm nearly 45 and having terrible trouble concentrating at work and my periods are all over the place in the last few months. I also have absolutely no patience with anyone or anything! I such bad experiences of hormonal pills and the mirena that were tried to "treat" the heavy bleeding that I'm very reluctant to try HRT.

A work friend who's a bit older than me has suggested black kohosh, so I'm going to try that first before I speak to the GP I think.
