7 months PP - sensitive topic on forceps delivery

Hi, a bit of a random question. Has anyone had a forcep delivery with a 2nd degree tear plus episiotomy. I feel like my downstairs area still doesn't feel right and never will. Everything feels a bit like it's dropped more. Even around my bottom area too. I'm healed fine etc and I don't have pain. But the skin in that area still feels strange etc. I can't really explain it. I just wanted to hear other peoples experiences. Thanks

Not forceps but had the tear, episiotomy, and the trip to the doctors when it STILL didn't feel right nearly a year later. For me it ended up being a quick fix that improved things easily (cauterisation of scar tissue) but either way they took it seriously when I pushed them and it was well worth asking for help. Good luck.

Might you have a slight prolapse - bladder or rectum? I had one diagnosed recently and DD is 7!!!!

Similar situation with me, episiotomy, forceps, bad rear front to back but after the initial recovery it's been absolutely fine so going off my experience I would say go back and get it checked out- have you had a follow up app with the hospital?

No I didn't have a follow up with hospital just my 6 week Gp check and that's been about it. Are the hospital supposed to do a check? Thanks x

@hjel Mine did but it might have been hospital specific because my friend who had similar at a different hospital didn't get a check either. Could you check in with your health visitor and see if there's a way you can see someone who is experienced in that side of things rather than a GP, or is there a women's health doctor at your surgery?

Are you okay in yourself? Its quite traumatic isn't it

Oh ok. It seems that way doesn't it. Some hospitals do things differently.
I had a bit of PSTD for about 2 months after and we were in hospital for a week as we got sepsis. It isn't nice at all, I have a bit of PND now too which is a shame. I'm glad your recovery was ok. Thanks for replying

I had forceps and episiotomy and for like a year it felt odd sitting down, especially on firm surfaces. It was really hard to get up. Also had a bit of incontinence in the bum area for a while too which wasn't pleasant. Sex felt stingy so went off that for ages haha. Only like 18 months later starting to feel more normal again.
