Bleeding a month after a 9 week medical termination…?

Hi, I’m new on here so please be kind, I’m looking for some friendly advise. I had an at home medical termination at 9 weeks gestation through BPAS and their online service and over the phone appointment. I took the tablets exactly as instructed, they worked exactly as advised. During the termination itself around 2 hours after taking the mifepristone tablets I expelled the foetus and a sack following it. I took the other lot of mifepristone and bled heavily for a couple days following this (as is normal), however this lessened off and I had light bleeding for around 2 weeks and spotting for about a week and a half after that. The bleeding near enough fully stopped for all of about 3 days and then restarted a few days ago…it’s not heavy or anything that I would be concerned with necessarily, there is no foul smell (just smells like period blood same as it has done throughout), I’ve got no abdominal pain. I understand that I had the termination at quite late for a medical termination so obviously expected to bleed a little longer than women who have one at 5/6 weeks, however I’ve read online that any bleeding past 3 weeks I should go to see a doctor, so now I’m worried it’s a possible incomplete termination with retained tissue which is what I’m still bleeding out but I’m not sure if I’ve just scared myself and over worried. I’m also unsure of if it could be a period, the bleeding did stop for those few days then this started again, but it’s lighter than a normal period I would usually get and I’m not sure if it’s normal to have a period as soon as this following a medical termination. If anyone has any advise on if this is normal it would be greatly welcome! I’m sick of the bleeding now :(

In the meantime, please check out BPAS's support pages on aftercare following a medical termination or you can call them on 0300 333 68 28.

We hope you're okay, OP.
