I had chickenpox as a child but I'm not sure if there is still a risk?

No it’s fine if you have already had chicken pox. However, the key question is if you have immunity? Mostly, if you had chicken pox as a child, you will have.

As long as you've had it I'm sure it's fine and you're immune, but check with your GP if you're at all worried.

I was pregnant while 2 of my kids had it. I asked the midwife about it and she said if I've already had it there's no risk. And on the off chance I did contract it, the risk of it causing problems is low.

Thanks for the quick responses all! Good to know that even if I did get it, because I am likely to have immunity, the risk would be low. I had shingles on 27 January (2 weeks pre-pregnancy thank goodness) so I do even wonder if I gave my son chickenpox!
