Lump in breast and breastfeeding

I've had a lump near to my left nipple for several months. Its approximately the size of a grape but more oblong in shape and feels very lumpy- similar to normal breast tissue but much harder. It isnt painful at all and I first noticed that it was there in July last year when expressing colostrum prior to having my little boy.

I know lumps and bumps can come and go with breastfeeding but has anyone had anything similar and had it checked out? What were the results?

I'm seeing the gp tomorrow- my paternal grandmother has had too mastectomies ( on separate occasions, one being in 2020) but as far as I'm aware its unlikely for brac1 and brac2 genes to be passed down paternally.

If it hasn’t changed at all in that time it’s good you’re seeing the GP.
I had larger lumps when breast feeding but they always went away after feeding.

I had lumps and bumps whilst breastfeeding but they tended to flare up and calm down depending on time/fullness rather than being constant.

Sounds like you're doing the right thing seeing your GP, fingers crossed they get to the bottom of it :)
