Hysteroscopy recovery

Hi. I had a hysteroscopy yesterday (just gel on my cervix, no GA - it was painful), and I'm feeling really rough today. Nauseous, shaky, localised pain in lower belly which ibuprofen isn't touching. No fever. Can anyone reassure me that this is normal?

Sorry I don't know (am waiting for one) - bumping this for you, and I hope you are feeling better today . I think I would ring the gynae office or 111?

I don't think this is normal, sorry. I had one 2 weeks ago and have had them before. You may have developed an infection, so try to contact either the place you had the hysteroscopy or your GP and ask for advice?

I don't think this is normal either. Had a hysteroscopy with a polyp removal before Christmas. local anaesthetic only and there wasn't really anything I could describe as 'post recovery hysteroscopy'. It was a complete non event.

I think you need to get it checked out.

Definitely not normal- seek advice!

emmathedilemma · 24/02/2022 15:45

That doesn't sound normal, I had a GA for mine and I was fine the next day, just a bit tired but that was mainly due to circumstances leading up to it. I didn't even need painkillers.

Louisianagumbo · 24/02/2022 16:15

I've had two. No GA or local. Went shopping after and had lunch out. So I really don't think this is normal and I would be ringing the gynae unit to ask for advice.

I had one three weeks ago. No gel or GA. I didn't feel anything beyond some mild pushing sensation and I was totally back to normal the minute I hopped off the table.
It might be a good idea to get checked out.

Mine was under GA. I felt fine, but was quite weak and bled for a month - then was kindly told off by my doctor for not flagging that to her earlier!

I wouldn't be worried after only one day. But if you don't start feeling better after 48 hours I would absolutely contact your doctor.
