8 months post partum and random spotting and pinky tinge

Ladies…

Before I start, I want to say how much of a paranoid person I am so please only nice answers and no eye rolls. panicking!!

I’m due on my period in 6 days - periods back to normal for past 5 months but I’ve just been to the loo and I’ve got spotting and a bit of pinky tinge when I wipe.

I’m not pregnant (no sex) so it’s not implantation but now I’m freaking out as Google tells me that I of course have cervical cancer. I had a normal smear just before I fell pregnant 18 months ago, but never had any irregular bleeding really - or not that I can remember - I'm 32.
Anyone else had this?

I think it's quite unlikely to be cervical cancer. Spotting before a period is quite normal, pink is generally cervical mucous in combination with spotting, and fluctuations in your cycle of less than 7 days are still counted as regular periods. It's only classed as irregular if your cycle length differs by more than 7 days every month.

Your periods can change as you age and especially after having a baby.

You could always request another smear if you are worried but this sounds completely normal to me and nothing to worry about at all. :)
