Lost coil strings

Anyone had this?
Been for a smear today and strings arent there. Nurse said will be referred for ultrasound.

Yes I did. Went private for gynae and she found them within minutes and took coil out. Hope all goes ok for you.

Not me personally but we see it quite frequently in patients, don't panic, they'll do a scan and go from there x

Yep. Mine had perforated my uterus and was found on my left hand side near my bowel! Only discovered this after ALOT of rummaging, an abdominal uss, an up the fanny uss and finally an x-ray! 😃

Had to wait 6 months for a laparoscopy to remove it where they replaced it with a new copper coil.

Thank god I never got pregnant with dc5 in the meantime as I reckon I couldn't feel the strings for over 2 years but never did anything about it 🙈

@lupinlass was you not in pain with that?
I keep telling myself if something like that happened surely I'd know and be In lots of pain..

No pain at all. They think it happened at insertion (no wonder I nearly passed out!!)
