Pelvic pain? Infection?

So I’m looking for some advice, maybe someone has had this before?

I have had chronic pelvic pain for the last 5 days. In the lower left, radiating into my back. I had a miscarriage back in December and wandered if it could be related.

I ended up in a&e today with the pain and had blood tests and swabs done. Blood tests have come back clear! They were thinking it could be Pelvic Inflammatory Disease but said if results are clear it’s not likely to be an infection. Still waiting on swab results to confirm.

Has anyone ever had an infection before but had clear blood tests? I was convinced it was PID from the symptoms so I’m now worrying it’s something more sinister…

Thanks Smile

I had PID a few years ago, coincidentally after a smear. Also ended up in A&E as the pain was indescribable. Didn't have bloods done, but did have an internal scan (negative) and swabs. Was covered with metronidazole whilst awaiting the results as they can take a few days and untreated PID can be very damaging.
Hope you get sorted asap. I'll,never forget the pain.

That must have been awful! If it’s the same thing, I totally understand the pain, I’ve never felt anything like it. I had a miscarriage back in December and quite a few internal examinations afterwards so I’m assuming it’s all linked. They’ve given me Amoxicillan in the mean time until the swab results come back but she seemed pretty certain it can’t be any sort of infection as my bloods were clear.

Thanks for sharing! My mind has been going crazy with Dr Google.
