About 7 years ago I started having 'excess' discharge, burning and itching. I've had multiple swabs and the only thing they found was strep b. I wasn't pregnant at the time and haven't been since. However, this problem still exists! My vulva blows up like a balloon whenever me and my husband 'try' to have sex. The only thing that helps me is a BV gel, but I've been told it's not BV?!
It's also not cytolitic vaginosis, been down that route and nothing changed! I'm also a blood donor so I know there's nothing untoward going on there. I'm 46, this started when I was 40. I refuse to believe it's pre menopause! So, any ideas before I(hopefully find the money to) go private?

I had similar when I had a "high, strong" case of thrush. I had no external symptoms typical of thrush. I ended up in oral treatment with two courses of the pessary and two weeks of the cream.

Try taking some good quality probiotics.

When I had this problem I went to the sexual health clinic, in desperation. They were brilliant and checked everything. I was put onto a fortnight’s course of fluconazole which did the trick.

Why would you refuse to believe you're in peri-menopause? Confused You almost certainly are at your age. Peri can last 10 years or more before full menopause.
