Talk me down...breast pain

A few weeks noticed a bit of pain in localised spot on inner right breast area. I had a feel and thought I could feel something a bit smooth but it was hard to pinpoint, it felt like a tendon or something. The pain was coming and going and it seemed to be coming from the rib. After 2 weeks of this I went to my GP and she had a quick feel and said she couldn't feel any lumps.

Im 36 and have small breasts (32B) and I don't have any of the risk factors apart from not breastfeeding my 2 children.

The problem is sometimes I think I can feel something but it's usually when I'm sitting up, not when I'm lying down. A lump shouldn't do that right?

I think the pain is most likely costochondritis or something related, but the "lump" I feel I'm not sure about. Anyone had this? I've never had any issues with my breasts before this but recently my hormones have been playing up and they hurt more around ovulation/period.

Just worried Sad

You may feel the lumps better in certain positions. When you visit the doctor stay in the position you prefer to feel the lump. You are still concerned despite seeing your GP so for piece of mind you should see your GP again and get referred to breast clinic just in case. Perhaps you can do an e- consult and ask for referral . Not every lump can be easily felt by everybody and nobody can tell what they are exactly without imaging etc. Evening primrose oil was recommended to me for hormonal breast pain by breast specialist and it really helps.

Odd as it sounds, pain is usually a sign that its nothing serious. Doctors always worry more about painless lumps. It does sound hormone related but I would go back and ask for a referal, just to put your mind at rest.
