Achy, sometimes painful boob.

My right breast has been achy for 3 days. Non stop. And sometimes painful. It's keeping me awake at night. The breast feels bruised underneath where it meets the rib cage.

I get relief when I take paracetamol, but it wears off after 4 or 5 hours and I don't want to keep taking it.
Any ideas what this could be?

are you pregnant

I get this on and off throughout the month and it gets worse mid cycle. I told the GP and she said it's most likely hormonal changes due to peri menopause and to take paracetamol and try warm compresses until it eases. It's always in the one boob like you have! The gp said to keep checking for any changes to the breasts like dimpling of the skin on the areola and any new lumps obviously.!
Hope it soon feels better.

Thanks both.
I went through menopause 10 years ago which makes me feel it's not hormonal or cycle related.
I've tried to get a docs appt today but fully booked. I'll try again tomorrow.

@Gazelda.. good luck with your appointment. Let us know how you get on

Cyclical changes effect both breasts usually. This is what i read. It is best to get referred to a breast clinic just in case and.for piece of mind. Perhaps tell the receptionist it is breast related and you need an urgent appointment.
