Bit worried at the moment - I suffer from health anxiety so that doesn’t help.
I had sex on Sunday for the first time since December 2019 (?!?) I wouldn’t say it was particularly rough but obviously a shock to the system considering it had been a while!! Afterwards, I did the usual go for a wee and we did use protection. I’m on any contraception at this time but did have my booster moderna jab on 31st December whilst I was on my period and I had my first proper period since then from 31st jan for slightly longer than usual (5 days compared to my usual 3/4).
I was at the end of my period or so I thought as I had had a few days of just dark brown discharge when I was having sex and later in the day yesterday, I noticed a pinky red discharge whilst wiping. This lasted a few hours. I have had no pain or anything associated.
Today I have gone to the toilet and wiped and there are still specks of browny red and pink in my discharge and I’m extremely worried that this could indicate a serious issue!
I last had my smear in October 2019 and was told I was all clear with no HPV or issues and I was very low risk for cervical cancer. I’m due my next one in October of this year.
I’m trying to think logically that this could just be the shock to my cervix of having sex after so long or the fact that I was nearly finished my period but the fact it caused light red/pink discharge a few hours after has got alarm bells ringing!
Has anybody experienced this or is able to offer assistance/guidance? Could the shock of sex caused my period to restart?!
