Private appointment

I've booked a private appointment to see a GP as I'm sick of waiting to see my own GP face to face. I saw one a few months ago but although she was nice, she was a locum and I didn't feel she listened.

So,bottom line is I'm sooooo tired all the time. I have two DD, 6 and 4. I work 4 days as a teacher and have DH. I have no energy at work, no energy at home for my own kids. Ony day off and weekend I'm emotionally and physically knackered. Honestly, I don't exercise as I feel too tired. I don't eat a lot of red meat as I don't like it. My diet could be better. I eat fruit. I drink a couple of glasses at the weekend so nothing excessive. Don't smoke. I know I could do some simple things to try and improve my lifestyle but surely in late 30's I shouldn't be waking up after a ten hour seep, yawning. My kids even comment on how tired I always am.

I want the appointment tomorrow to be worthwhile so what should I ask ?

At the very least they should do some blood tests to check your thyroid, your vitamin levels, your liver function and your FSH (to see if you're peri-menopausal).

I'm not a doctor though, so hopefully someone else will have more advice shortly. Hope you get it sorted.

Get bloods done ( which you could easily request via telephone nhs gp appt) .... vitamin D defiency or vit B12 or iron deficiency can cause fatigue.....check your thyroid and generally a full blood count .... then take it from there

Hey I hope you are ok! I'm in a similar position and constantly feel tired.. I had bloods done this week, I called today for the results but they said the doctor wants to speak to me! They have no appointments left for tomorrow so now I have to wait until Monday wondering if anything is wrong ( mind goes into overdrive!) Im also suffering with body pains in random places and also pelvic pains. Fingers crossed I get some answers soon!
