Hi all. Just after some thoughts. I have been invited for my cervical screening, all up to date had them done everytime I am due all ok. However like alot of women I hate it, it's so painful, I have seen home swab tests that test exactly the same cells as the NHS. This has been trialed I. London but not rolled out yet. These kits are available to buy.

Has anyone been involved in the trial? Or has anyone paid for these kits? Any thoughts I can seem to decide whether to pay for one or just get on with the normal screening. My understanding is that the NHS only tests for HPV then tests further for cervical cancer if the HPV risk is high so, if you self swab and get a high risk result you would need cervical screening at that point.
