Hi there,
Looking for some advice.
I have pcos.
I’ve now had my period for 15 days. Is this normal? It’s not massively heavy but very dark sticky like blood ( almost like the end of a period ) They are very hit & miss ?

Can you make a GPs appointment?

Lifesforloving1 · 05/01/2022 12:49

@KiloWhat
Yes I think I will ?

Good idea, they might be able to give you something to reduce the bleeding

GAW19 · 05/01/2022 12:56

One thing I've learnt with PCOS is anything is 'normal' unfortunately Sad I had a constant period for 3 years straight. Then 10 years of absolutely nothing. I have had 2 children (with help) and have only recently had a natural period.
Do call the GP though, they may be able to help

MissLC · 05/01/2022 13:05

Just a different thought, have you recently had a covid vaccination? I was bleeding for weeks after my first one so could be that?
I wouldn't let that put you off going to the GP though x

May I ask how old you are now?. I ask only as if you are say 40 plus then this may be due to peri menopause. Constant rises and falls of both estrogen and progesterone may be playing their roles here re this constant bleeding. You should seek medical advice and ideally a referral also to a gynae.

@GAW19 wow ! 3 years ? That must of been awful ! I absolutely hate pcos. My periods are so hit & miss. I take metformin to try are regulate them. Unfortunately this doesn’t always work ? I haven’t had a period for 6 months, now I can’t stop the bleeding -( I’m not looking on google for the answer again )
Do you think it will stop naturally?
@AttilaTheMeerkat
Im 28. 🙂
@MissLC I’ve not had the booster yet - I’m thinking it’s most probably my pcos, crappy uterus.

PCOS is certainly not helping matters here; its likely the hormonal imbalance between estrogen and progesterone that is causing the prolonged bleeding.

Do get this further investigated asap via the GP.
