Another UTI

Hi all, currently sat on the toilet nursing yet another ghastly UTI. I only had antibiotics on 15th Nov for the last one, so not long ago and I've got another. I have suffered no end since having the mirena coil fitted 3 years ago, however I am aware this has absolutely nothing to do with my bladder so I don't know if it's just a coincidence. I am trying to squeeze out a sample whilst I await my GPs call, but this feels like one of the more savage ones, and my poor vagina is throbbing and twinging, it is driving me mad. How can I ease it? 😭😵‍💫 any tips would be greatly appreciated - happy new year to you all x

Actually it might be your coil
I've never had one myself and never will but I'm sure someone I know said they went through a phase of having a awful utis and it turned out to be the coil
I've had plenty of UTI though and they're bloody awful
Anti btiotics was the only thing that ever worked for me I'm afraid so I hope you've contacted a gp since posting

Get on boots website and order some antibiotics quick!

I always have some on hand, in case of UTI, as I get one after every single sexual intercourse, without fail. But, as soon as I came off the pill, we’ve been TTC and not a single UTI!

No idea sorry but I always get them after sex unless I do a wee within half an hour. Haven't had once since I've been doing this.

They're so horrible :(

Heat is your friend. Get a hot water bottle on your bladder area and get some antibiotics asap.

Nurofen really helps too, it calms the inflammation.

Nitrofurantoin is my go to antibiotic but one I had before Christmas was so bad I needed another course. I was given co-amoxyclav and it was a total god send. Have had interstitial cystitis since though.

No more sex for me. Ever, ever again!!

Hope you get sorted soon. You can go on Boots and Superdrug and get a prescription online. Maybe do that asap?
