Age 40 and get tired so easily

Is this just a normal part of ageing at 40? Or hormonal?

I seem to need a lot of sleep. Not depressed and do not work full time. Have 2 upper primary age kids. 🤷‍♀️

It may be worth having a blood test done to see what your thyroid gland hormones levels are like

GoodnightGrandma · 24/12/2021 15:59

Yes, check your thyroid, and your iron levels too.

Confuseddotcom12345 · 24/12/2021 17:17

Thank you. I’ve had thyroid checked but it was over a year ago so maybe should do it again

Another vote for a blood test. It would be interesting to see your thyroid, iron and vitamin b levels

LiveFromNewYork · 26/12/2021 13:27

Iron and B12 but I’d also be doing some research into peri menopause.

Do you have any other symptoms? Are you pale or breathless or headachy. That would indicate anaemia.
Definitely get bloods checked. I’m always iron deficient so I supplement for that. It’s worth taking Vitamin D as most people are deficient.
