Internal buzzing/vibrating

Hi everyone. I wondered if anyone else experiences these funny feelings. Over the last week I have occasionally felt my body vibrating at night. On and off. Seems to mainly be my top half. Very odd. Wondered if anyone else gets this?

Perimenopause. It's a very common symptom

turnaroundtime · 29/12/2021 07:05

This refers to tingling. It's the same cause that results in buzzing www.menopausecentre.com.au/information-centre/articles/tingling-extremities-during-menopause/

Hi everyone! Happy new year! Thanks for all the responses. My buzzing/vibrating seems to have changed a bit. Now seems to be on/off at random times day or night. Also random places in body. Very mild. Wondering if it's to do with certain positions and nerves being irriated. Very odd. Have done a blood test and waiting results (fingers crossed nothing worrying appears) and am also going to visit a chiropractor to see if they have any advice.x

I know this is a old thread, just wanted to share my current experiences. I have had bloods done yesterday for vitamins, FBC and electrolytes requested by out of hours gp. As my own gp at surgery thinks it all health anxiety which it could most likely be as I am young 34 yrs old, no family history that I am aware off, normal bp, normal bp and not anaemic based on blood results a few months back. I started having chest pains, ground is moving like on a boat and fluttering palpitations daily since may 2022 have been to local A&E many times but they have ruled out acute heart injury ie heart attack and have checked my bp from sitting down to standing up and the difference is not significant. However, I have had the 24hr ecg monitor awaiting results and my gp has referred me to cardiology the first appointment is late September as my referral was sent as non urgent by gp. However, what is scaring me is that for the past 6 weeks I been having daily muscle twitches and spasms around the body arms, legs, glace chin and left side of waist which can twitch throughout the day like a pulse. I been having pins and needles buzzing sensation in my fingertips especially my left hand and leg. At night when I wake up early in the morning so I am lying awake in bed I been having internal tremors from my shoulders to the back of my head they eventually stop after many minutes. However, I have started to notice my left upper arm visible shaking slightly and if I press on my arm I can feel fhe internal vibration even when holding something the object shakes slightly. Have spoken to my gp she hasn't mentioned anything about being referred to neurology she keeps saying it's anxiety. I have started talking therapies, but I rather be referred and get checked by neurology and if all is clear then be told my symptoms are anxiety related. I have tried my best not to think about parkinson's disease anf MND just because of twitching and tremors, but I just wanted to know if there are people out there who had tremors and twitching for a long period of time and it was based on anxiety alone. Gp said because of anxiety relating to heart you are getting tremors. However, I have suffered with anxiety last year and in 2015 have taken medicine in the past but I never experienced these symptoms and palpitations. It's just they are happening daily and not going away. I am using magnesium sleep lotion to apply on my limbs. And I keep thinking my left hand is getting weak which I know is most likely my mind playing games on me as I am right handed so obviously quicker and efficient movement will always be with my right hand compared to left. Apparently anxiety can cause chest pain as well

Bighugs88 · 03/08/2022 15:34

Please anyone? Or any hope that these tremors and twitches didn't turn out to be fatal or into something else?
Thinking about pushing for a referral or going private to see a neurologist for MRI of brain and spine scans and other tests if I can afford it.

SierraSapphire · 03/08/2022 17:32

@Bighugs88 I think I probably said upthread look at benign fasciculation syndrome, there are a couple of Facebook groups that are absolutely full of people with the same symptoms some of them have had that for many many years and it doesn't progress to anything. It's good news that you're getting it all over your body, because the most serious things do you tend to start only in one limb and progress from there. I have had it myself for probably the last six years, after I had a really stressful time and a misdiagnosis of something and I was given a number of different drugs on top of each other and I think all of that has basically overloaded my central nervous system.

Unfortunately there are massive waiting lists for neurologist at the moment, I've been on one for 2 1/2 years now. I think that this thing that I was referred to for seems to have stopped, so I'm not that bothered but I was advised by my GP to just get a private referral if I actually wanted to be seen by a neurologist in the near future.

Sounds like the alcohol caused atrial fibrillation.

waterlego · 03/08/2022 17:38

I had this recently in my left buttock. On and off over the space of about a week. Never worked out what caused it but interesting to see PPs comments about menopause and perimenopausal as I suspect I am in that phase now.

commonfik · 03/08/2022 17:41

I had this a few months after I had COVID. As my Long Covid improved - very very slowly - the tingling reduced. Sounds very similar to what you describe.

Mine got worse when I had done too much!

UrsulaPandress · 03/08/2022 17:45

I’ve had the phone buzzing in my right pelvis area for a couple of years now.

Weird.

Bighugs88 · 03/08/2022 18:34

@AlansFungalFootPowder
I don't drink alcohol and AF has never been picked up on ecg for now. Waiting for 24hr ecg report

AlansFungalFootPowder · 03/08/2022 18:56

@Bighugs88 Oh no I meant the OP as it seemed to be brought on by Prosecco. Just realised it’s an old thread in any case.

Bighugs88 · 03/08/2022 19:04

@AlansFungalFootPowder
Lol I read OP's about Prosecco. I wonder how OP is doing now
