Why am I bleeding!? Not period, not pregnant

I'm getting myself in a tiz... I suffer with health anxiety at the best of times.

Had a regular period at start of the month, bled for 4-5 days and stopped. All normal. Two clear days, then I started spotting pink/red- not much, just enough to notice when I wiped. Went on for 5 days, gradually building up to full-blown bleeding, same amount as a period but very red/ fresh (sorry for TMI). Lasted 4 days before tapering off to brown. Now I'm just having intermittent spotting- pink/ brown.

I went to the doctor a few days ago and he did an examination- said cervix looked normal and he couldn't feel/ see anything worrying. He ordered some swabs and said he would refer me for an ultrasound but basically said 'it's probably just one of those things'.

I am not on the pill, not pregnant, would very much hope that I do not have an STI (in long term relationship) and normally have regular cycles of 25-26 days. Im 36.

Anyone experienced this before? I've googled and have come to the worst conclusions, obviously. I don't want to spend weeks worrying and checking whilst I wait for an ultrasound!

Have you had a Covid jab recently? Some people reporting some short term changes to their cycle I think.

The beginnings of peri? I think it's unlikely because of your age but it's possible.

Booster jab?

Thanks everyone.

I had my booster last week, but these changes started before that. I guess it may have had an additional impact but something else was going on before I even had it Hmm

Peri is a possibility- I did have a high FSH level a couple of years ago (it was tested as I was struggling to conceive) but I've gone on to have a baby since then and still *normally' have regular periods, plus no other symptoms of peri.

My periods became more regular in peri.

Mine is like that, I think down to peri. Doctor thinks the same but I'm 45.
