Postpartum bloating/gas - help!

Hi all, my DS is 8 weeks old and since giving birth, I keep getting completely bloated to the point I feel like I'm going to burst, and I burp and burp and it slowly goes away but can take hours, sometimes I'm crying in pain cannot sit, stand or anything to relieve the pain, I've tried walking, stretching, yoga positions, but I feel like I just can't shift the gas. I do have IBS which I take buscopan for occasionally when it flares up. But I never had gas issues before giving birth. It makes me anxious that I'm going to have an episode, it comes on very suddenly and makes me feel like I'm going to die! The pain is in my upper abdomen and my stomach is tender when I press it.

Has anyone had anything similar after giving birth?

I’m experiencing this now. Did you find any relief?

Not after birth, but after gynae surgery.

Have you tried over-the-counter products with Simeticone in them? They usually trade under ghastly names like 'Wind-Eze'.

Also I get great benefit from following a low FODMAP diet but that's pretty restrictive (at least for a while) and not great for post-partum women I'd have thought. Probably better off with trying digestive enzymes maybe?

IBS with bloating is horrible. That's partly why I'm awake now.

After trying every medication, diet and home remedy under the sun, the most effective things for me were wind-eze 30 mins after eating, frequent cups of cooled boiled water and walking around. I struggled in agony for weeks and these were the remedies that saved me!
