Bleeding

Hello this may be a bit tmi. But I need some advice. I had my little baby nearly 8 months ago. But recently everytime I go to the toilet for a number 2. There's blood on the tissue and in the poo itself. I read online about haemorrhoids causing this after birth. But I'm really scared. Has anyone else had this issue?

Do seek medical advice asap; a GP would have seen this sort of issue before now. Do not let any and all potential embarrassment on your part (which is completely misplaced) stop you from seeking medical advice.

I'm worried about what the doctor will say

But @Helloagain1987 if it's something minor that will put your mind at rest. (It's likely to be piles or an anal fissure.)

if it is anything worse (unlikely if you are young) then having it found early is the best way to sort it.

Just GO.

DaisyChain16 · 12/12/2021 19:43

Can you feel a bump or anything around there when you wash? I had my baby 9 months ago and I have one pile. It bleeds occasionally. But I know it's there and that's the cause. Midwife told me they take forever to go but will eventually. Doesn't cause me any pain whatsoever.

Helloagain1987 · 12/12/2021 19:45

I can't feel anything. Is your blood bright red on the tissue?

Is it bright red blood? That usually indicates piles and nothing yo worry about but it's best to get checked.

Thissucksmonkeynuts · 12/12/2021 19:53

Please speak to you gp OP, hopefully it will be nothing major, but getting checked out is wise. I had one big bleed 8 months pp and was sent for a colonoscapy. Nothing untoward was found. My husband went to the gp with a really small but persistent amount of bleeding and it was bowel cancer, luckily detected in time to not need a bag or any chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Flowers

Helloagain1987 · 12/12/2021 20:03

The blood is bright red. There isn't a lot but I'm worried.

Yes it is. If it bleeds I often see it for a couple of wipes and obviously it can look like a lot when mixed with the water in the loo. It could be an internal pile if you can't feel anything but do go to the GP it's honestly nothing to be embarrassed about and it will put your mind at ease. I joke about mine with my husband, call mine Lloyd the roid. 😂😂
Thatismyname01 · 15/12/2021 21:34

It's still happening but I just think it could be because I had a baby 8 months ago. I do also strain sorry tmi. It only happens if my stool is hard

fedup078 · 15/12/2021 21:56

@Thatismyname01 I had the same

Thatismyname01 · 15/12/2021 22:10

What was it?

fedup078 · 15/12/2021 22:14

@Thatismyname01 had bleeding for maybe a year postpartum. TMI but I always knew when there'd be blood due to how much effort it took to go. Could actually feel the tearing Sad

fedup078 · 15/12/2021 22:15

I'm ok now and have been for a good while
2 years on

Thatismyname01 · 15/12/2021 22:29

I'm glad youre good now. Did you have much blood? I get a bit on a tissue and also some in the water

fedup078 · 15/12/2021 22:36

@Thatismyname01
I was exactly the same
I really don't think it's anything to worry about . I honestly didn't think anything of it at the time tbh
I had it occasionally pre pregnancy too
I think the blood vessels around the anus are pretty easy to rupture

fedup078 · 15/12/2021 22:43

Although I knew it was tearing because I was obviously constipated and it felt like I was shitting razor blades so I knew that's why I was bleeding
If you are worried though you should speak to a gp

Thatismyname01 · 15/12/2021 22:50

Yeah it does hurt when I poop. Like it's tearing the edgd of my bum. It's only been like recently. I think it's just a tear
