Lump on left breast so scared :(

I have found a lump on my left breast I am so scared :( I have a 1 year old daughter and I’m so scared that something bad is going to happen to me. The doctor checked me today and said clinic will call me within 2 weeks.. I keep having random bouts of crying. It feels really weird. Has anyone been to a breast clinic recently? Is it a longer wait now due to a backlog of patients ?

Thanks

You will be seen within two weeks, most likely have a mammogram and ultrasound all in one go. Hold on to the fact that 9/10 breast lumps are benign.

I know it's shit waiting, I nearly lost my mind as I already have anxiety. Dr gave me diazepam. Didn't work but strangely enough camomile tea did help.

I got an appointment last December (think it was about 3 weeks), I didn't have a lump this time as it was hormonal breast pain but I was really worried about it. Was really quick, hospital examination was 5 minutes but put my mind at ease.

I also had one in May last year and it was also about 3 weeks for the letter to come through, about 5 hours in hospital from area to area, got told at the time it was benign and nothing to worry about (scan&biopsy) Then got a letter confirming this about a week later.

Try not to worry too much and at least you are getting it checked out soon x

Didn’t want to read and run. This happened to me and it was the worst two weeks ever, by the time I got to the hospital to see the specialist I was almost fainting with anxiety. It was a cyst (actually it was several cysts all stuck together). Try not to worry - it’s far more likely to be benign than anything sinister Flowers

I've been twice and both times it was a benign condition. As I was over forty I had a mammogram. Then an ultrasound. The waiting is the worst. Try to take it one day at a time. The consultant said that most issues are benign and they can reassure.

I went at start of November and wait then was 3 weeks but I managed to get a cancellation as the GP told me mine would be cancer and got in after a week. 9 of 10 are benign so the odds are very much on your side and if you have a 1 year old you must be younger than me (I am late 40s) which will help you odds a lot. Try to distract yourself if you can.
