Bleeding after intercourse

user1481228934 · 03/12/2021 09:50

Hi, just wanting abit of advice.
I'm bleeding fresh blood after having intercourse with my partner, this has happened the last 3 times we had intercourse over the past couple weeks. I dont bleed before literally just after we have finished, go wipe my self on the toilet and theres been quite abit of blood there. I have been with him for 6 years and this has never happened before only recently started happening. Has anyone had this and can shed some light as to what it might be? I'm getting really worried. I have attached a picture of what the bleeding is like, really sorry for TMI. but I'm so worried.

Speak to a doctor. I had this but it did clear up and also had a smear test so was checked then. But do speak to a doctor. And allow time for it to heal

You need to speak to doctor, who hopefully will do a smear then refer you to gynaecology. I have this problem for last 3 years and no issues found. They thought was the coil but it wasn't. I've had 5/6 procedures but still happens and now been told I will get yearly smears but theirs nothing wrong, bloods always clear, cervics healthy. Try not to worry but better to get checked.

I had this and was referred to colposcopy.
A biopsy showed I had cin1.
I had a treatment that froze the cells on the cervix and I had no further bleeding.
I'd go to the GP and ask them to have a look. You could have a harmless ectropian.

You need to see GP.

I have seen the GP she definitely took some swabs, dont think it was a smear though (never had one so dont know what they're like)
And has booked me in for a pelvic scan to see further as she said my cervix looked normal.
Worrying out of my mind here.
Hoping it's something harmless.

The combined pill caused this for me and stopped as soon as i stopped taking it

Snowywintersundays123 · 03/12/2021 10:25

I’d ring the nurse at your doctors today and book in for a smear, it might be nothing. But always worth checking out.

fedup078 · 03/12/2021 10:30

I would think if the gp has had a look she would have taken a smear too. It's basically just a swab
How old are you ?

user1481228934 · 03/12/2021 10:31

She just said she took some swabs, so not sure iff it was a smear or not as I didn't look. I'm 25 in January.

You’re doing all the right things op.

I had similar a couple of years ago. I had a smear test and pelvic scan and everything was fine. The bleeding stopped on it’s own. Try not to worry too much, especially if the gp has said your cervix looks normal.

user1481228934 · 03/12/2021 13:56

Thank you for the reassurance x

I had this and it was a cervical ectropian (sp?) caused by taking the pill. I had to go for it cauterizing. It happened again a few years later and I had the same treatment. It is most likely nothing to worry about but it is good that you are getting it looked at.

user1481228934 · 03/12/2021 14:18

Oh that's good you got it sorted! I'm not on any contraception so bleeding couldnt be related to that x
