Red blood spots 4 year old

Hi,

My four year old girl, who is red headed and very fair skinned has several blood type spots (flat) on her body! One beside her nose, one of her hand near her thumb and one on her knee.

I have lots and lots of cherry angiomas/petechiae all over my body so I wonder if it’s just hereditary.

Of course google has made me lose my mind slightly and can you get this as a child, I assumed it was in adulthood? She’s had them for nearly a year now.

Anyones children have the same?

Conversely, I had several as a child and I've just realised that they've gone!! (No idea when, I'm now in my 40's).

I do have one, similar to your DD's by my nose, but that only arrived in my 20's.

I definitely had one on my inner arm, and one on my thumb as a child... And I'm pretty sure there were others.

Thank you, that’s put my mind at ease! The one on her nose is so obvious. I guess you can definitely get them as a child then too 😊😘

My child has had a few appear. I’m hoping they go :(

Bit concerned (ling story) they might indicate infection but our GP isn’t interested in anything that’s not straightforward m.

I agree, I sent pictures to mu GP and was ignored basically so I took that as all was ok.

I think they are harmless, as I have them all over but was just concerned as they were on a child x

I had loads as a child and i'm fair haired and very freckly also.

I had a very prominent one under my eye which really bothered me and I remember my mum taking me to get it zapped when I was about 8. The doctor only did it for cosmetic reasons. It never came back but I have developed others over the years.

I was covered in these as a child. I think it was down to a bad diet on the fault of my parents as they completely cleared up as an adult

( obviously im not suggesting that your child has a bad diet)

My only concern is she has about 8 over her body! My gp is so rubbish though, I’m still waiting for a response.

Excuse her pink face, she was laying on that side asleep!

I had them as a child too

You’ve given your DD’s name Op and her pics so would suggest you report your post and get at least some of it taken down x

Misscbu17 · 09/12/2021 11:58

Thank you. I didn’t even think of that - silly me x
